    What will the menu look like?
    how will we make it stand out.

    the buttons we need are:

    - Standard
    - Infinite
    - Achievements
    - Options
    - Credits

    How are we going to display all this, we could always have a second menu for the two game types. also there will be another menu page for level selection.

    I like TL's idea of the minority report menu, it sounds swish and makes use of the iPhones touch screen. I can appreciate that placing the items in a center circle may cause glitches, but it will look inspired if you can work that out!

    My opinion is to leave the menu items completely free of each other, allowing the user to place the items anywhere on the screen. It'll just look neat, even if the user places them on top of each other!

    I also reackon the reading of the credits be manditory, with our names in MASSIVE lettering haha! :p

    We could make them hexagons and have one empty "black" hexagon that reads "Place Keycard Here" to make it obvious.

    Ooh mandatory credits... I want people to notice me for my hard work too but i think this kind of action really draws people away. I think we can make ourselves stand out by making the credits more eye appealing than just a boring scrolling text. for instance we could have the MPW3K driving accross the platform inifinitely by itself while big bold text appears. we could have the words "Music Composition" , "Sound Effects", "Graphic Design", "Programming" etc. appear just like the popuot text appears in the game when you score something big , and the names in clear text beneath them, one could fade out before the next one appears.

    Another thing MPW and I have done is create a Msuci Player with the composers credits right underneath it where they can preview all the Music in the game with the exception of a few special stages.

    We could also have a concept art page and place credits there.

    I would much rather take an innovative approach to drawing attention opposed to forcing someones hand and possibly losing interest in our products. I special see this being a problem for the iPhone, if someone needs to get to a call and we tie them up this could cost us!

    i was thinking the same thing for the credits!!

    do you have concepts of the stage? if so half way through, we could flash the scene after movement and the stage could change into a slideshow of concept art, then back into the movement of the game.

    I would prefer concept art to be seperate from the actual credits, and the music player too. Only thing i could for programming is a page explaining the concept behind building swipe from creative the innovative swipe movement to complications or challenges you may have had.

    No during credits, the mpw3k will go along an automated route, this was my idea for something in the credits.

    Hmm, i like the rotating thing but i just feel that we are overcomplicating the menu, also i think we we should do is just have buttons to click on rather than the drag interface, it's ok but some people might not get it, personally when i play on my ipod, i just want to get straight into the game without messing around with the menu. it looks cool but there is this nag in my head that it could be a failing idea. what i think we should have is 4 of those rotating things with different things in them like.

    do you reckon we could combine both ideas?

    btw i have added some scrolling on the pages, drag mouse up or down to scroll the text.

    what i was thinking, is like yours, and then when you click on one and it reaches the middle, it goes to a page like what i have.

    ooh that looks beutiful lets clean it up. the screen scrolling like the icon dragging could get messy we need blinking arrows that tell them they can scroll. either that or eliminate the possibility

    i had another idea for the menu today, basicalyl you could have buttons that say like play with a mini cog covering the a little bit of it and you have to swipe that cog across the button to activate it, there would also be a splash screen at the start like with that picture you made with a start button with the same functionality. there is also a message which says slide to activate. that would teach them the menu controls instantaniously, i will wip up a demo of what i mean to show you all.

    Sounds really good. but make it say swipe across to activate.

    also i like the first menu design more than the later one you did. i think we should re think the sliding movement a bit i thought the last version was too much i think we need a little less and not slide across the entire screen.

    with this new swiping buttons we may end up changing the layout.

    yeh i didn't really like the latest one i made, anyway this would be an almost carbon copy of the 1st one i made except a slide to activate instead of a click to activate.

    thats really rough I see the intent , and i like the idea but it looks very bulky and cumbersome. maybe we are over thinking it.

    i really like the idea of swiping though. maybe different graphics?

    also i think i enjoyed song 2 for the menu more than song 4 , i think song 4 can be used in credits, and or story.

    It seams like a hassle but if we can pull off a unique menu it would be epic! lets slow doen and take our time with this menu. let me sit on it a bit and i'll post an image or example and we'll move on from there.

    Oh btw the ipod screen is 3.5" so remember that stuff will appear really small.
    the view_port on gm when it's something like 240*160 would probably show how wide it is, of course it would look nicer than that Razz
